How long does it take to receive the result of my Background Check application?

Processing of the background check takes an average 5-10 business days. Registrants are advised to monitor their emails and phones as the vendor may reach the registrant directly if additional information is needed to process the check. Since different email providers treat certain incoming emails differently, it is strongly recommended that you monitor the Spam/Junk mail folders in your email inbox. Vendor sends a "Clear" or "Not Clear" results for each of the reports. A "Not Clear" result for any part of the background check result means the background check did not clear and therefore the registrant is ineligible to continue to the next step of Registration to Servicing Journey.

What happens if I fail my Background Check?

If you fail the Background Check

  • You will be considered ineligible and hence cannot continue your application unless your background check application is cleared.

  • You may reach out to the First Advantage Canada directly to see if you can provide any additional piece of information to help clear your file.

    • It is at the sole discretion of First Advantage Canada to determine if they are willing to re-process your application.

    • Arise or MPower are not authorized to intervene in this process.

  • If your file gets cleared up after a re-process "and" if the opportunity is still available, you may proceed to the next step of Registration to Servicing Journey.

  • If the file gets cleared up after a re-process "and" if the opportunity is filled out by that time, you will not be able to proceed to the next step and will have to wait for the next available opportunity.

  • If the file does not get cleared up after a re-process, you will be considered ineligible and hence cannot continue your application unless your background check application is cleared.
